HELLO! :)
Weinye Chen, originally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has had a passion for drawing since childhood. She would sketch on everything she could find, from her home's walls to her school textbooks (sorry, Mom!).
Initially starting her career in graphic design, Weinye eventually returned to her true love: illustration. She earned her BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2015, focusing on comic art, graphic novels, and children's books.
Weinye is also the creator of the popular slice-of-life, self-titled webcomic series, “It’s Weinye,” which boasts over 230,000 followers (and growing!) across various social media platforms.
In addition to drawing, Weinye enjoys cafe hopping, collecting children's picture books, watching animated movies and has a hard time saying no to a bag of potato chips.
She currently resides in Malaysia, working as a full-time illustrator.
